There's a sliiight change of plans, Captain!

Hello!

How was your summer? Brillant we hope.
Our was amazing. So many great festivals, so much great music, AMAZING people !!! Thank you, thanks a lot for your support, you're all amazing!

You may be wondering where is the Crossing Mind album we promised for September.

Well it's been mastered for a while, you may have heard these very tracks at Boom in Portugal or more recently at the Puzzle Effect party in Israël. But the bad news is we're having some issues with the cover which is pretty special, so we have to delay that album a little bit.

The good news is we're releasing RA - Earthcall in advance!
Weird, everytime RA is involved our CD numbering gets all mixed up :)

We're sending the material to the press as we're speaking so you can hope to have the album in your hands around October 10th.

Here's the tracklist:

1 Terra
2 Predator Remix
3 Sacred Sands
4 Crossing Planet
5 12th Hour (RA & Menkalian)
6 Touch A Star
7 Causatum

See you soon !!

The Summer gift: Crossing Mind - Live at 10 Years Suntrip Records by Fractal Gate - April 30th 2014

Hello Suntrippers

Two posts ago, I mentioned we were working on releasing digital-only live recording on a "Name your price basis". It took a little more than we thought, but this is it !

Crossing Mind - Live at 10 Years Suntrip Records by Fractal Gate - April 30th 2014

Crossing Mind is a respected Goatrance producer. He'll be playing at the Boom Festival 2016 (Dance Temple, August 14th 15:00) between Tsuyoshi Suzuki and Filteria!

We are releasing this live as a teaser of what the man can deliver on stage, although most tracks this year will be from his forthcoming album "Beyond Duality" to be released on Suntrip on September 2016!

We recorded this live performance at the Suntrip Records' 10th birthday party in Antwerp, Belgium on April 30th 2014. It contains eight live edits of released tracks, and two early/beta versions from his forthcoming album. It cab be really interesting to see how an artist edits his track prior to a performance, or how two work-in-progress tunes can evolve in the course of two years.

01 Cyclotron (Early version) [09:17]
02 Xtatic Confusion (Live Edit) [08:16]
03 Goathmic Pulsations (Live Edit) [08:20]
04 No Hazardous Materials Signs (Early version) [09:08]
05 Magnesia (Live Edit) [08:30]
06 Elastic Harmonies (Live Edit) [09:53]
07 Hydrophobic Visions (Live Edit) [08:20]
08 Solarnium (Live Edit) [08:49]
09 Virtual Mind Cleaner (Live Edit) [0:57]
10 Cyclone in Your heart (2014 Remix) [09:57]

Crossing Mind's live gear is unusual: he plays with a tablet plugged to an external sound card and running a bunch of audio apps! Be prepared for serious mind twisting psychedelia at Boom! Click and see by yourself :)

Download/Purchase on Bandcamp: https://suntriprecords.bandcamp.com/album/live-at-10-years-suntrip-records-by-fractal-gate-april-30th-2014 . We're working on making this release available on other platforms like Ektoplazm.
Be generous, the artist will get a significant part of your donations :)

Why the Mouth of Madness !?

Some of you have noticed that the Morphic Resonance track "In The Mouth Of Madness" bears similarities with Cydonia's "Why".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e6vFl3jvoc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-ytaKJkiN8

We need to clarify something here: "In The Mouth Of Madness" was originally intended by Cristian to be a tribute to Cyndonia. As the composition evolved Cristian added his own elements that made it a different track, but some core elements were still recognizable (bass, rhythmic arrangement).

Whether "In The Mouth Of Madness" is a remix is "Why" remains subject to discussion. Though, in the heat of the release preparation, the Cydonia guys weren't contacted (contrary to the S.U.N. project guys, from which we got full support, thanks).

For those who may be too young to know about them, Cydonia used to be one of the top leading Goa bands back in the days. Signed under the stellar Blue Room Released and Atomic Records, they had this twisted, dark, industrial, sometimes funky touch that made it so recognizable from the rest of the Goatrance output back then. I saw them in Paris in 1999 and they rocked (what remained of) the dancefloor.
Cydonia was Iain Rive, Steve Ronan and Dino Psaras, who were also involved in other killer projects such as Semsis, Universal Sound, Tortured Brain, Ayahuasca, B.E.T.H... We strongly advise you to go and listen to their EP's and albums.

https://www.discogs.com/Cydonia-In-Fear-Of-A-Red-Pl…/…/20492

As you know, many oldschool artists are starting to tour again and Iain Rive told me it was his plan as well. So we wanted to make it clear that if you happen to hear a tune that reminds you of "In The Mouth Of Madness" at some party, it's actually the other way around !

Respect, Cydonia!

Some forthcoming plans...

Hello

Thank you !

First we would like to thank you very much for all the nice words we received for the wondrous Morphic Resonance release!

Please don't forget to support the artist. The release is available in a number of stores:

...and many many others
...and every digital distributor too (iTunes, Play, Amazon, Beatport, Spotify....)

The Goa Trance Overview by Suntrip Records

Did you ever wonder how the sales are of goa-labels? How much is digital, how much cd? Is the cd really dying? Are labels struggling?
Suntrip Records opens all his official sales for the public... Have a look & share!

The Boom Tickets

Following the -legitimate- reduciton int he number of sold tickets (from 60000+ in 2014 to 33333 this year) for security and manageability reasons, the Boom was basically sold out before the end of 2015. Belgium is a small country with a big Goa fans base and unfortunately, we only had 40 tickets. A nightmare to explain that to hundreds of frustrated people.
We are going to receive extra tickets but our waiting list is already so long that we're sure they're already all gone...

The Boom Lineup

Boom has decided not to disclose their lineup prior to the start of the festival, but we can announce who is going to play at Suntrip:
  • Crossing Mind (Live act with live tablet-based soft-synth tweaking)
  • Filteria (Live act with live synth tweaking)
  • Anoebis (DJ set)

Oh and I'll put an end to a 19 year old curse and will manage be there too. Don't hesitate to come and say hello.

And what are our future plans ?

I just realized we hadn't communicated over the releases of 2016. Certainly because we were pretty depressed after the terrorist attacks... But you should really know, it's utterly exciting !

June 2016 : "XXXX - Live at Suntrip 10th Birthday, April 2014"

We are working on a yet-secret digital-only release with one artist, on a "Name your price basis". It will be a recorded live-act for the core fans wanting to hear how an artist edits his tracks prior to a live act, and there will be a couple of beta versions of yet-unreleased tracks too !!!

September 2016: "Crossing Mind - Duality"

Stéphane is going to play at the Boom Festival and he's currently polishing again and again a collection of his new tracks ! And we'll release all of them just after!!! Be repapred for some serious psychedelia.

October/November 2016: "RA - Earthcall"

YES, the album title is now chosen, and Ivan 'Richpa' Paric is working on the artwork. AT LAST, RA is going to relase his long awaited 4th album, and it will probably be the last one, and obviously a future instant-classic :)

End 2016 / Early 2017: Imba - "First Encounter", Mindsphere - "Seclusion", Merr0w - "Fractal Octopus", K.O.B. - "Kind Of Behaviour" ?

We have at least 4 releases more or less complete and we're yet unable to tell which one is going to be completely ready first. Imba seems the most advanced at the moment, but Mindsphere's downtempo opus is also pretty much ready.
Besides, Merr0w has a storng album base already, and K.O.B. (Filteria's side project) has delivered us a groovy >1-hour promo.

2017-2018

There will certainly be a new Compilation, the last part of Mindsphere's Mental Triplex, and I can already tell there's a LOT activity in Kumanovo/Macedonia, if you see what I mean...
For those who have been reading us for a long time, there's also an Ethereal album on the shelves, the guys are taking their time, let's be patient...

Have a sunny week-end !

Summer is coming... And Morphic Resonance too.

In 10 days from now we'll be releasing the debut album of Morphic Resonance, "The City of Moons"!

Christian Morphic Fernandez is a 28-year-old genius from Girona, Spain, and he's about to flip your goatrance references big time with his debut album, “The City Of Moons”!

Morphic Resonance has been deeply influenced by the sound of Etnica/Pleiadians, Shidapu, Tim Schuldt, UX, Fitleria, and he mainly works with an analog gear. His live performances are known for ramming the dancefloors with relentless rhythmic work, crazy acid lines and stunning melodies.

Since we're at a loss for words, we're just inviting you to listen to the samples on the release page! Enjoy!

Toï Doï - Synaptoc Electrophoresis is out !

Spring is a complete new league in terms of energy. Let's celebrate it :)

Suntrip & DAT Records joined forces to release a banging old school goa-trance release of Toï Doï !

French veteran Gilles Coia is known since the 90s, releasing over 5 albums on various labels ! We managed to dig into old archives of the late 90s and early 2000s, and this is the result : darker, super psychedelic old schoolish goa-trance !

The album starts with long, hypnotic, darker goa-trance tracks, slowly entering more melodic, spiralling territories ! The second part has more twisted, but still melodic, tracks with unexpected turns allover the place.

Everyone who likes their goa-trance different… This is your chance ! Back to the twisted, more psychedelic 90s ! Rush to our shop, and enjoy the madness!

And yet again...

Yet again, one of our home countries has been struck by imbecility and obscurantism.

We said all we had to say back in November and we stand on our statement:

Where are the Boom Tickets?

Hello
The Boom Ambassadors ticket sale is supposed to have started today. But you've seen there's none for sale on our shop.
Given the amount of emails and phone calls this morning, a clarification is needed.

Back in December, the Boom realized they were going to be sold out soon, so they allowed us to put a "reservation" list in place. And so we kept writing the names of those inquiring as they came.

Since then we're between 300 and 400 inquiries, each for 1 to 6 tickets. Naturally our meager ticket quota is long gone now.
And that covers the next phase tickets as well.

Every other Boom Ambassador I know is in the same situation. We're really sorry for this. On the other hand, we're happy to see the Boom be a victim of its success.
That said, keep in mind there were 60.000 people at the Boom 2014 and it was barely manageable (that's the terms the Boom guys used last time I called them). Clearly, limiting to 33.333 tickets is not an easy decision for them, but it is for the greater good, and to ensure a nicer Boom experience.

Our advice is to keep on watching the Boom and Boom Ambassadors Facebook pages in case something, anything, comes up.
